The Gato Award — That Special Gift
Would you like to honor someone in the Los Gatos area? Maybe a special person that has helped you in some way; a coach, a teacher, a friend, the unsung hero in your life? The Gato Award will give you that opportunity. You may honor this person at any time by making a tax deductible donation of $1,000 to the Los Gatos Community Foundation Endowment Fund. Your honored person will be able to designate a non-profit organization to receive $500 and the balance will stay with the Los Gatos Community Foundation Endowment Fund, where the earnings will be given in the form of grants made to the various programs that better the community, such as youth, seniors, arts, and environmental groups. The Endowment Fund donation may also be designated by the Honoree.
The Honoree will receive the following from the Los Gatos Community Foundation, Inc.:
- A Medallion on a ribbon; the back side engraved with the Honoree's name and the Medallion's Registration number (no two Medallions will bear the same number).
- A lapel pin.
- A framed certificate with the Honoree's name, why he/she is being recognized, the charity which will receive the donation in the Honoree's name, the unique Registration Number that is engraved on the back of the Medallion.
- A thank you on the Los Gatos Community Foundation, Inc. web site as a Gato Award recipient under Friends and Supporters.
An officer of the Foundation will be present at an Award Ceremony at the time, date, and location of the Applicant's choosing.
The Donor will receive a letter from the Los Gatos Community Foundation, Inc. acknowledging their
tax-deductable donation.
